Mr Chris Daniels
Founder and Principal Director

Ever since I was a child I dreamt of being a teacher. For me, teaching is a calling and I could not envisage doing anything else.

Originally from Manchester, I have taught in schools in London for 7 years now and, as a founding member of Global Learners Academy, I am excited to be a part of the evolution of teaching. It is my wish to be a part of a movement that is reaching out to the ever expanding global community of learners.

My most recent posting was as a specialist Speech & Language teacher in a state-of-the-art resources base for children with SEND.

Before that, I was leader of KS1 (Years 1 - 2) and leader of the computing curriculum in a mainstream London school. My areas of expertise are KS1, Phonics, Computing, E-safety and Safeguarding.

My academic background is in Law and Political Science and I have a real passion for history.

I set up Global Learners to offer teachers a better life outside of the heavy demands placed upon them in the state system and as a way to honour my late brother and late niece's memory by giving something back to the learning community and the community as a whole.

Global Learners is my way of exporting excellent teaching standards with compassion, empathy and, above all, passion.

Ms Rosie Thomas

I specialise in English and Drama and have always been incredibly passionate about teaching and supporting young learners in their growth. I have a passion for theatre, history and art and love sharing this with those around me.

Since starting teaching in 2017, I have worked in a variety of schools across the country including top private schools and specialist performing arts schools, always enjoying bringing a little bit of dramatic flair to any lesson and subject.

I am a versatile and flexible teacher, working to meet each individual’s needs as best I can, and to shape lessons according to the pupils, rather than expecting everyone to be able to fit inside the same box.

Alongside teaching I run a theatre company which supports young artists and performers in taking new big steps into theatre and creativity, and have always enjoyed how this expands and influences my teaching.

I’m a big believer that we are all always learning, and I learn so much from my students every single day. I’m always in the mood for a fun fact or good story that can enhance our lessons, and I look forward to what we can teach each other!

Mr Wesley Pritchard

Coming  from the old industrial heartlands of South Wales, I am a self-made professional dancer with over 20 years’ of experience in the entertainment business.

I studied professional dance at the London Contemporary Dance School; and later went on to complete my studies in America at the California Institute of the Arts, where I graduated with a first class BA (hons) degree.

I spent the best years of my life working on cruise ships all over the world, whilst being a member of touring dance companies.

My starring roles have included appearing in music videos, commercials; and I recently played the Grinch in the 2022/3 pantomime season.

I simply love expelling all of that excess energy in entertaining kids as Spiderman - or any of their other favourite superheroes - at any type of children's gathering, including:

Ms Marianne Odetola

I first began teaching in 2018 as a TEFL Teacher in Madrid, Spain. Prior to this, I had always enjoyed breaking concepts down for my friends and siblings whenever they found something they had learned in school challenging.

Still, pursuing a career in education wasn’t at the forefront of my mind and instead I completed a Bachelor’s in Geography and a Master’s in Environment, Politics, and Development at King’s College London.

During this time, I found myself drawn to working with children through charities such as Debate Mate and The Kids Network. So I eventually decided to further my education with a PGCE in Mathematics at University College London and have been teaching Mathematics ever since.

I have always been fascinated by numbers and problem-solving, likely because of my competitive nature. This led me to complete Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A Level, despite being the only girl in the class.

Despite the great difficulty I experienced at first, with immense hard work and dedication, I was able to achieve an outstanding A* in A-level Maths and an A in A-level Further Maths and i find that this helps me to empathise with each learner.

I was extremely pleased with this outcome and still see this as one of my greatest achievements to date because of just how much I struggled to grasp certain concepts. It was very disheartening given my successes in Mathematics at GCSE level but it strengthened my resilience and led to creative approached to solving problems.

My enthusiasm for teaching stems from my first-hand experiences: they have shown me that teaching is not just about transferring knowledge; it is about creating an environment where students feel supported, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.

I hope to pay the encouragement I received from my teachers forward to this generation of students.

Mr Chris Ledgister

Hi, I'm Chris and my area is teaching English to adults who are Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Before teaching, I was the founder and managing director of my own security company.  For 13 years, I provided bespoke event security management for a range of VIP clientele, high net worth individuals, venues and premises, events and corporate functions.

My teaching experience comes from training as a teacher for the Lifelong Learning Sector.  I have a recognised City & Guilds qualification that allows me to teach and train adults for lifelong skills in further education, community education, work-based learning and training; and for work in the voluntary sector.

My last post teaching post  was working as a qualified conflict management teacher at City & Guilds London. I was  responsible for teaching the Level 3 Conflict Management award to Security Industry Authority (SIA) candidates for adult students.

HSE First Aid at work.

Level 3 Certificate for deliverers of conflict management.

Level 3 Certificate Award on Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

Ms Sharon Campbell

I have been a qualified teacher since 2005, spending  5 years teaching in the UK and then continuing my career in the UAE for 13 years before relocating back to London.

I have taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and, for 10 years, I held the position of Key Stage 1 Leader.

My time in the UAE enabled me to gain a wealth of experience teaching students with English as a second language and engaging with international curriculums that offer more cultural diversity and different perspectives.

Studying the Arabic language has allowed me to understand the challenges of learning a second language, and I am extremely passionate about supporting students going through this journey themselves.

My other areas of expertise are phonics, reading, grammar, writing, and maths. I thoroughly enjoy supporting children with their learning.

My goal is to support them in filling any gaps in learning whilst encouraging them to challenge themselves.

I believe it is vital for children to develop their confidence. Children need to have self-belief, and once we have worked on this, we can build on a love of learning.

Then, anything is possible.

Ms Daisy Smith

Teaching is all I’ve ever wanted to do and even before qualifying as teacher in 2012, I have worked with children in some capacity.

I started my career as a supply teacher for a year which enabled me to hone my craft and gain a wealth of experience. I have always taught in London and Surrey and have now worked in 42 schools teaching from Nursery to Year 6.

I was a class teacher for 6 years which I thoroughly enjoyed but have since returned to supply teaching enabling me to work in many different types of schools and with children of all ages.

I enjoy teaching all aspects of the curriculum but English is the thing I love to teach most with a particular passion for literature and grammar. I specialised in art and history during my training and also have a great interest in PE having lead this subject in two schools for 7 years.

I am a very enthusiastic teacher with a drive to make learning fun and memorable. My main motivation is to ensure that all children progress to the best of their ability and enjoy doing so.

Ms Sara Hunton

Hello! I’m Sara, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey as an educator and tutor. I started my career in primary education, working as a classroom teacher and then as a governess for families in both the UK and internationally.

From teaching in traditional classrooms to guiding children in private family settings, I’ve had the opportunity to support children’s academic and personal growth in so many unique ways.

My approach to teaching is all about fostering curiosity, confidence, and resilience. I believe learning should be fun, dynamic, and meaningful. I tailor each session to match my students’ interests, drawing on both structured learning and creative activities that make each subject come alive.

My goal is not just to help children excel academically, but also to inspire a love for learning that stays with them well beyond our time together.

Language is one of my great passions, and I’m lucky to be fluent in Italian and proficient in French. I think exposure to different cultures and languages can deeply enrich a child’s education, so I bring a global perspective to my teaching whenever I can.

Whether it’s weaving in language skills or sharing stories from different parts of the world, I aim to broaden my students’ horizons and help them see learning as an adventure.

As an Independent Usborne Partner, I’m passionate about inspiring children to fall in love with reading.

If you’re looking for a tutor who values creativity and has a nurturing, student-centered approach, I’d love to connect. Let’s make learning an inspiring journey!
