Ready to Progress

Our night school classes aim to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children to make sure they are 'Ready to Progress' in their learning. By focusing on the primary curriculum for Maths and English, we intend to foster a love for learning, build confidence, and equip students with essential skills that will serve them in their academic journey.

For the 11+

Our 11+ night school classes are designed to provide a focused and intensive learning experience for children preparing for school entrance exams. With a small class size of six students, we aim to create a personalised environment that encourages deeper engagement with the curriculum. Our intent is to develop the essential skills in both maths and English, enhancing students' confidence and competence as they approach this critical stage in their education.

Our curriculum intent for these Ready to Progress classes reflects our commitment to nurturing confident learners in both maths and English. We believe that through engaging and interactive learning experiences, every child can achieve their full potential, develop a lifelong love for learning, and feel empowered in their abilities.


Mathematical Fluency:

- Develop students' ability to recall and apply mathematical facts and concepts efficiently.

- Incorporate daily practice sessions focusing on key areas such as number bonds, multiplication tables, and basic operations.

- Use a variety of engaging activities and games to reinforce fluency in a fun and interactive manner.


Reasoning:

- Encourage students to articulate their thought processes when solving mathematical problems.

- Present open-ended questions that require logical reasoning, allowing students to explore different strategies and solutions.
